  • Team South

So I'm on the intramural flag football team here at my lovely CIU. We have a boy's North and South team and a girl's North and South team. I am, of course on the South girl's team. The first practice I played defensive tackle. Yes, laugh it up. I wasn't bad... Tonight I played cornerback and safety. It was pretty fun! I enjoyed it. This is my game face.

  • Bedtime Stories For Demented children

    Patrick the Giraffe

There was a giraffe, you see, who lived once some time ago who had an uncommonly short neck. He couldn't reach the leaves on the higher trees so his mother would gather the leaves for him so he could eat. Well one day his mother just up and died and after Patrick ate all the leaves off the little bushes and scrub trees there was nothing else low enough for him to eat and he starved.

    Thomas the Jaguar

There used-to-was this jaguar what lived in part of Nashville and one night he was about to get runed down by a car, so he jumped out of the way and clumbed up a nearby tree only he forgot that he was declawed. He fell right out of that there tree and no sooner than he hit the ground some off-roadin fool ran him over with his Dodge Ram...

    Adolf the Monkey

Sometime in the dawn of time there lived a monkey named Adolf. He loved to climb trees and eat bananas and kiwis. He was climbing a very tall tree one day when he missed a branch and fell fifty feet to the ground where he was impaled on a ginormous thorn and killet.

    Nettel The Penguin

Once there was a penguin named Nettel and she lived in Florida. One day there was a tropical storm that came to visit Florida as sometimes they do. There was a big bolt of lightning and it came right down and struck Nettel dead...

    Huckleby The Guppy

Once there was a guppy fish named Huckelby who lived in a fish tank. One day a very lovely cat came to visit. She inserted her paw into the tank to shake Huckelby's fin, but alas her paw touched some electrical part of the water pump and she was electrocuted. Sadly water is conducted and so Huckelby was also electrocuted. It was a shock to them both...

    Raymond the Peacock

Raymond was a peacock who thought quite a lot of himself and his looks. He fondly believed himself to be extremely handsome and consequently he tended to strut around in a haughty manner.

One day he was occupied with this task until he burst with pride and his feathers and quills went everywhere...

    Jasper The Leopard

Once, a little while ago, there was a leopard named Jasper. He was a happy leopard and enjoyed laying in the sun for extended periods of time and eating leopard food.
One day he was sitting on a bench in Central Park enjoying all the different people who were walking and playing there. Now it is not customary for leopards to be seated upon benched in Central Park, so when people noticed that Jasper was there they became quite agitated and began to run away screaming.
Jasper was confused and emotionally injured by this act of un-welcoming hostility, but he decided to not let his overwhelming grief overcome his uplifted mood and so he remained seated on the bench, enjoying the sun.
It was not long before Jasper’s keen ears picked up the sound of the sneaking boots of men. The SWAT team was on the scene. Jasper leaped off the bench and ran at breakneck speed through Central Park and back to his home in Uganda (he runs fast...). He felt safe there and so was greatly shocked, although for a short time, when he was walking along one day and fell into a lion trap and was impaled on a giant spear and killed...

  • Back in the waiting room I go tomorrow.
    Another freezing cold wait.
My fingers turn white and my nails turn purple as I wait.
Another consultation wherein I rehearse about the same issues as always.
    More waiting.
    More blood work...
    More waiting.
I'm not asking that the problem be fixed.
I'm just asking you to figure it out.
    More waiting....

    Same answer.
I'm sorry sweetie, everything is normal...
Why do I keep doing this?...

  • 8/23/09

Yesterday was my birthday. It was a long day. I got to see a lot of friends that I haven't seen all summer. I missed them so much and it was fantastic to see them again, but somehow that didn't change anything. My birthday was sad, just like every other year. I cringe every time I hear the "happy birthday" greeting. I smile and say thank you and wish that no one knew it was my birthday. It's over, thank heavens, and I can breathe again...

About Me

  • Walking in the rain, laying in the grass and watching the lightning in summer, walking on the beach with my shoes off and the wind on my face, fast driving with all the windows down and the radio as high as it can go, laughing until it hurts and tears run down my face, scaring people, playing with fire, going on long walks, watching the stars, swimming, boating, getting dirty for a good reason, watermelon, sweet ice tea, Bryers Coffee Ice Cream, church, Jesus Christ, my brother and sister, talking to someone I love until the wee hours of the morning, high heels, silk skirts, earrings that dangle, friends, babies, inside jokes, listening to music, playing the piano, working with clay, hugs, being crazy, quiet moments, day dreaming, trust, being with someone that loves me, the color green, Starbuks coffee, flip-flops, cameras, and black and white pictures...
